Tired of the normal sightseeing routines around Saigon? Hôtel Des Arts Saigon would love to recommend our guests some unique places to visit outside of our 5* design hotel, to enjoy the best Saigon can offer.
1. Take a “Xe Om”
Wandering around Saigon, you can see many bike drivers just slacking around on their bikes. These guys are Xe Om drivers, otherwise known as motorbike taxi drivers. It is recommended that you bargain the price beforehand instead of paying without checking the prices. These “bike” taxis are usually cheaper than the traditional car taxis and can give you a full experience of being a Saigonese.
2. Drink an Egg Coffee
Invented and made popular from the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, however, Egg Coffee has made its way to the heart of the country, Saigon, and is enjoyed by many of its citizens and visitors. It is made from egg yolks, sugar and condensed milk, whisked together to make a meringue-like foam, and poured over strong Vietnamese coffee. Try this new type of dessert to fulfill your sweet tooth today!
3. Visit an apartment café/boutique
One of the many interesting things to do in Saigon is to visit an apartment café/boutique, where apartments are transformed into little cute shops. There are popular apartment shops around Saigon, for example, 26 Ly Tu Trong street and 42 Nguyen Hue street.
4. Get tailored!
It’s time to suit up! Get your tailored suits today with amazing prices in Saigon. Saigon might not be the center of tailored suits in Vietnam, compared to Hoi An, but it beats everywhere else with its accessibility. You can find many tailor shops around Saigon, especially on Le Thanh Ton street right behind the Ben Thanh Market or on Pasteur street. The process for a tailored suit is fairly fast, ranging from 1 day to a week, depending on your needs.
5. Visit the 3A Alternative Art Area
How about a visit to the Artinus – 3D Art Gallery in Saigon for a flashy photoshoot? Nothing beats some startling photos to memorate this remarkable trip with your loved ones, in style. Your Artsy journey awaits at 3A Ton Duc Thang Street (located in a private alley), district 1.
